This bun is baking away!  He (or she) moves more than I could ever imagine to be normal. Haha.  I cannot wait to see him (or her) in the outside world.  I wonder if there will be constant wiggling and movements even in sleep?  I love finding the little things that only I can recognize from holding the baby in-utero, things that no one else existed until birth.

I think that is one of the reasons that I love being pregnant so much.  This baby is MINE while inside of me.  I know I know, baby is mine after birth as well, but not like this.  Once baby is here, I have to share.  Maybe I’m just selfish, but the time that I have alone with baby is the greatest, most intimate time of my life.  I am never alone while carrying a baby.  My body literally grows this child.  It takes my breath away. I do get nervous though about post-partum depression.  I worry because I love being pregnant so much, that after the belly is gone and baby is no longer just mine, that I will be sad.  I didn’t suffer from depression at all with Scarlett, and I loved being pregnant with her, but I was ready for her to be here.  This baby, though, I am just treasuring the whole thing differently.  I have no urge to do primrose oil tablets at 36 weeks (to soften cervix) or see the chiropractor and acupuncturist to induce labor, etc.  All of these natural things I did with Scarlett starting at 36 weeks.  They are all safe and recommended, but this time I won’t start anything until 38 weeks or later. If even then.  I will however do my exercises to keep baby head down!

Exhaustion, Exhaustion, Exhaustion PDF Print E-mail

week 30

Exhaustion does not even begin to describe my mood over the past two days.  I know that at 30 weeks, the tiredness is going to start creeping up on me, but this is just ridiculous.  Scarlett has been clingy and needy and cranky for some reason.  THAT is the root of my exhaustion.  My days normally begin at 5:25am with my alarm reminding me that the gym is calling my name.  Yesterday started just as any other day: gym, shower, yummy scrambled egg breakfast.  I had my energy and was going strong. Scarlett and I went to the library story time and stopped in at babies-r-us to pick up a box of wipes.  Somewhere between there and home Scarlett just became this overly-tired, cranky child!  She fell asleep in the car (nothing new) and I transferred her to bed when we pulled in the house.  For one reason or another, she woke up and decided that a tantrum would be more fun than a nap.  At this point, I was hitting my needed naptime.  It was a battle to say the least!  The normal 2.5-3 hour naptime may have lasted 40 minutes total.  The rest of the afternoon was just a downhill spiral from there.  I counted the hours until John got home, only to find out that he wasn’t getting home until almost 9:00pm!  (He was working on a project.)  I would have thought Scarlett’s bedtime would have been early: NOPE.  It was just the afternoon from cranky Hell.

Where are the days going?  How is it already June of 2011? Hurricane season is starting, the heat is in full swing with only one temperature setting: HOT.  The grill is being used every weekend, providing us leftovers to be eaten throughout the week.  Bike rides and pool time is part of our everyday ritual at this point!

So far this summer, I have had two catastrophes.  I am waiting on the third to appear any day.  Last Saturday, I knocked my amazing Sony a330 D-SLR camera from a wall at the park.  It seemed to be fine immediately afterward, but by the next day, the zoom was off and wouldn’t focus correctly.  Because it wouldn’t focus, it wouldn’t take pictures.  So that had to be sent in for repairs.  As if that wasn’t bad enough, yesterday afternoon, Scarlett and I were at the pool and somehow one of the small side diamonds from my engagement ring was lost.  It looks as though the little bracket holding the diamond is what chipped and the diamond fell out.  It makes me sick to my stomach!  My engagement ring is made up of one large stone, 6 small/medium stones (one of these is lost), and 50 something little “chips” around the band.  Of course, it wasn’t a “chip” I could have lost….. ugggggggggggh. I’m bringing it in to be fixed next week.  I don’t know what else could be broken at this point, but I don’t want to find out.

My week has gotten away from me!  I have lost all track of the days and the time!  Things are finally falling into place here in Savannah.  Our house guests have moved into a new place, Scarlett has started pee’ing on her big girl potty, laundry is put away (almost all of it), and I know how to drive to the pool without using the GPS – huge successes people – HUGE!

We decided to do the social membership in our neighborhood, as there are two big outdoor pools for the summer and two indoor pools for the winter.  We have a gym and access to the restaurants in the community as well.  Let’s just say that I could get VERY use to this lifestyle.  Because it is a “renter’s market,” this area is well above anything we could ever afford to buy into, but heck, it’s in our price range right now, so why not!
